      El destino de la carrera en Las Vegas se decidió en la salida, cuando en la lucha con Max Verstappen Lando Norris se salió de la pista y perdió la posición. Tras la carrera, el piloto de McLaren reconoció que cometió un error...

      En realidad, simplemente frené demasiado tarde: fue mi error. En la primera curva hay que actuar con decisión, pero yo fui demasiado agresivo. Eso me costó la victoria, pero a veces pasa. No fue mi mejor trabajo, pero cuando un rival te saca 20 segundos, significa que simplemente lo hizo mejor y que su coche es más rápido.

      Hice una buena carrera, tuve un buen ritmo, pero Max fue más rápido. El segundo puesto es un buen resultado, conseguí puntos importantes y no estoy demasiado decepcionado. Debo felicitar a Max y a Red Bull, estuvieron fantásticos, y ahora nos prepararemos para la próxima prueba.

      Quizá no sea mi circuito favorito; hay muchos circuitos que no me gustan, pero este año me fue bien en algunos y aquí no tanto. En el primer tramo no encontré el ritmo de inmediato; me quedé mucho tiempo detrás de Antonelli, lo que complicó mucho las cosas.

      ¿Opciones al título? Obviamente ahora necesito más que simplemente recortar la distancia. Me prepararé bien y daré lo máximo en los dos fines de semana que quedan. Sería bueno terminar el año con un buen resultado. La situación en el campeonato es la que es. Veremos qué ocurre al final».
