La Fórmula E se prepara para la carrera debut en Madrid.
Hoy en el autódromo Circuito de Madrid Jarama, ubicado a 32 km de la capital española, se llevará a cabo por primera vez una etapa del campeonato mundial de carreras de coches eléctricos.
En su momento, esta histórica pista albergó carreras de Fórmula 1; desde 1968 hasta 1981, allí se celebró el Gran Premio de España en nueve ocasiones, después de lo cual la pista continuó utilizándose activamente para carreras de otras series.
Aunque nunca se han celebrado etapas de Fórmula E en Jarama, antes de la temporada pasada, la pista fue sede de pruebas de la serie eléctrica, cuando Valencia sufrió una inundación y no fue posible realizarlas en el autódromo Ricardo Tormo.
Los equipos de Fórmula E no tenían mucha información sobre la pista en Jarama, y trataron de compensar esto con un intenso trabajo en simuladores. Pero ayer comenzaron los entrenamientos, los equipos y los pilotos se pusieron a preparar la etapa en este autódromo, construido a finales de los años 60 por el famoso arquitecto holandés John Hugenholtz, quien también diseñó la pista en Suzuka.
La Fórmula E utiliza una configuración de circuito de 3934 m con 14 curvas. El mejor tiempo en el entrenamiento de ayer fue marcado por el británico Dan Ticktum, piloto del equipo Cupra Kiro.
