Hot Wheels will resume producing Ferraris this spring.

For the first time in ten years, Hot Wheels is reintroducing Ferraris.

This announcement was made at the Nuremberg International Toy Fair, where Mattel revealed they will offer a “full range” of die-cast Ferrari toys. This lineup will feature everything from limited-edition models under Mattel Creations to basic $1 “mainline” 1/64-scale cars, along with remote-controlled vehicles. The collection will showcase both Ferrari's racing and road cars, highlighting their current offerings as well as classic models. The first releases are expected this spring, with additional items to be added over time.

In the past, Ferrari and Hot Wheels had a close relationship; during the 2000s, they collaborated on premium 1/18- and 1/43-scale models that celebrated Michael Schumacher’s championship-winning F1 cars and legendary vehicles like the 365 GTS/4 Daytona. However, in 2014, Ferrari signed an exclusive licensing deal with die-cast manufacturers Maisto and Bburago (both owned by the same parent company) after their contract with Mattel expired, as reported by Hemmings.

Consequently, the last Ferrari model to be produced by Hot Wheels was the LaFerrari in 2014. Since then, any official die-cast Ferrari has come from those two companies, which are less prevalent in North American retailers and thus would stand out in collections of enthusiasts. Now, however, Ferrari is back among the offerings from Hot Wheels.

Recently, Hot Wheels released its latest Formula 1 vehicles featuring officially licensed designs from eight current teams. Notably absent from this lineup were Scuderia Ferrari and Aston Martin. With the new agreement in place, there is renewed hope that Lewis Hamilton’s latest car could eventually be part of the Hot Wheels lineup.
