The FIA has decided to tighten the tests for wing flexibility after all
The topic of flexible wings in Formula 1 is not new, and almost every year in different contexts it is heard again and again, for example, last season in Ferrari and Red Bull worried about the legality of the front wings of McLaren and Mercedes. The technical regulations strictly set the permissible limits of flexibility of certain elements of the car, but to check it can only be in the course of static tests, and to reproduce some of the loads acting on the aerodynamic trim on a real race track, it is practically impossible. In order to collect additional information and so on, we will expand the range of tests of the rear wing and introduce additional tests of the front wing starting from the Spanish Grand Prix. - These changes are aimed at tightening the rules governing the flexibility of the bodywork and controlling compliance, which will level the playing field for all competitors and contribute to a fair and interesting race.
