FIA issued a fine for profanity for the first time

At the beginning of the year, changes were made to the FIA Sporting Code, as a result of which drivers will start to receive significant fines, as well as disqualifications and points deductions from the personal standings for the use of profanity. The racing public criticized the changes, but the FIA did not take this into account and began to apply the penalties in practice. Last weekend, during the WRC World Rally Championship round in Sweden, the stewards fined a driver for profanity for the first time, French Hyundai driver Adrien Furmot. He said the F-word in comments on his performance at the last stage. Furmaux's words did not go unnoticed, and the stewards of the Rally Sweden fined him 10 thousand euros and an additional 20 thousand euros, which the driver will have to pay in case of repeated violation in the next 12 months. The racer apologized to the stewards during the hearing and published the apology on his social networks.
