Daniil Kvyat: Change is good for Formula 1

      Last week in Jeddah Daniil Kvyat took part in the so-called "rookie tests" in Formula E, where he piloted an electric racing car of the DS Penske team. Daniel in an interview with the Spanish newspaper Marca shared his impressions, but it was also about the upcoming season of Formula 1. Question: How is the mood after the tests in Formula E? Daniel Kvyat: The mood is great, I drove a lot of laps, including in qualifying pace to understand the features of this car. It was quite fun! The track is very good, I liked it. Towards the end of the session I already piloted more confident and could attack more aggressively. Question: Previously you have already taken part in such tests and piloted cars Formula E - what can you say about them? Is it difficult to pilot them? Daniil Kvyat: Yes, because they are different. There is nothing to compare them with, because they are not formulas, and not the technique of the GT class, and something unique. In addition, these machines are very unstable behave on the brakes, and adapt to them must be gradually. But when you manage to understand everything, it becomes easier. Question: Do you like this championship? Do you consider it a good opportunity to continue his career, even if you are now acting in endurance races? Daniil Kvyat: Yes, why not? This championship is steadily developing, it involves factory teams of major car manufacturers, including DS, Nissan... There are some very famous people among the drivers, so the line-up in Formula E is always very strong. Question: Do you follow Formula 1 now? Surely you have already seen Carlos Sainz in the uniform Williams...Daniil Kvyat: Yes, I follow, although not very closely, not going into details. I know that Carlos became a driver of Williams - let's see if he can climb the podiums with this team. Of course, for him it would be very great. Question: Recently in Formula 1 a lot of changes. Lewis Hamilton suddenly moved to Ferrari, which, it seems, no one expected, and it caused a very strong reaction...Daniil Kvyat: Yes, and all this goes for the benefit of the championship. It's always better when there are changes like this, because the drivers get new opportunities. It's definitely better than when I was racing for Red Bull Racing: then the Mercedes drivers were two seconds faster than everyone else and were in their own category. And now the winner of the race ahead of the others is not so noticeable. Question: Maybe that's why many people like Formula E? The peculiarity of this championship is that the cars are almost equal in their capabilities...Daniil Kvyat: I agree, because if you take into account all the factors, it is here the sharpest competition. Although, of course, Formula 1 always attracts 99% of the media attention. There are other very good championships, but the media is always most interested in Formula 1.
