Adrian Newey prefers not to make predictions

On Monday, March 3, Adrian Newey officially starts working at Aston Martin F1. After almost two decades of cooperation with Red Bull, the famous racing car designer now holds the special position of managing technical partner in the Silverstone team and is one of its shareholders.

Since Newey is joining the team only now, he is unlikely to be able to significantly influence the AMR25, this year's car, and his main task is to prepare for the 2026 season, when Formula 1 will switch to new technical regulations.

"I'm not making any predictions. Now I'm just looking forward to it all, and then things will go the way they will," he shared, taking part in the BBC podcast "Back to Base". – My first goal is to get to know everyone in the team, understand who works and how, and try to establish interaction with everyone.

I will have to communicate with the drivers, with my colleagues in the engineering department, and I will try to get them to share their ideas with me. We should try to create a kind of creative process."

The invitation of Adrian Newey, a recognized genius of aerodynamics, was one of the main investments of Lawrence Stroll, the owner of Aston Martin F1, in his team, along with a large–scale modernization of its infrastructure, which included the construction of a new base and the construction of a new wind tunnel.
