Ferrari is blocking Cardile's transfer to Aston Martin until the summer
Ferrari blocked the transfer to Aston Martin of Enrico Cardile, its former technical director, until the summer, the Italian press writes about this, in particular, the newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
According to her information, Maranello demands that Cardile start working at a new place only after the expiration of the entire 12-month "academic leave" – therefore, he will not be able to try on an Aston Martin uniform until July.
If events develop exactly according to this scenario, then Cardile's contribution to the development of the 2026 car will be significantly less. It is assumed that the Italian specialist will take the position of technical director at Aston Martin and will be generally responsible for the chassis creation process, working closely with Adrian Newey.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the postponement of Cardile's arrival in the team greatly angered Lawrence Stroll, the owner of Aston Martin, since other agreements had previously been reached between the parties. For what reasons they are now violated, it is unclear, and allegedly the lawyers of both teams are already dealing with this conflict situation.
