This Friday, March 7, the seventh season of the Formula 1 documentary series Drive to Survive will be released on Netflix. The first episodes are already available to a narrow circle of journalists for writing reviews, and from them it became known that Toto Wolff promised Lewis Hamilton not to negotiate with Max Verstappen as long as Lewis is driving for Mercedes.
In one of the episodes, Toto Wolff discusses with his wife Suzy which of the drivers to invite to replace Hamilton in 2025. They list the candidates Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso, then they get to Max, and Toto says, "I haven't talked to him because I promised Lewis I wouldn't negotiate with him. But now I'm going to talk to Max."
In another episode, speaking with Bradley Lord, the head of the press service, and Gwen Lagrue, the head of the youth program, Toto complains that Max is not interested in joining Mercedes: "Everything is difficult with Max. I think there's only a one percent chance that he'll change his mind."
