Cadillac paid the teams about $450 million.

      The Cadillac brand was allowed to participate in Formula 1, but after that they paid the teams almost half a billion dollars in compensation for future prize losses.

      According to RacingNews365, Cadillac had to pay about $450 million, which will be equally divided among all ten existing teams.

      It is assumed that in the Agreement of Consent, the text of which is protected by a non–disclosure agreement, this amount was different - 200 million dollars, which any team wishing to participate must pay the rest to compensate for the loss of prize money, since in the future they will be divided not into 10, but into 11 parts.

      Some teams argued that $200 million was too little in a situation where each team was profitable and worth hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars.

      The Cadillac team plans to debut in the 2026 season with a customer-built Ferrari engine, and from the 2028 season, General Motors will supply its own power plants.
