Formula 2: Fershor completes tests with best time
Richard Fershor also periodically rose to the top of the protocol yesterday, but only on Friday he showed the best time of the day, although it did not become the best at these spring tests in Bahrain. In the evening session, the Dutch MP Motorsport driver completed a lap in 1:43.273, which was more than a tenth faster than Joshua Durksen, who rose to the second line of the protocol.
In the first three–hour session, the leaders were different, and so were the lap results, partly because the drivers and teams mostly worked on race pace over long series of laps. Van Amersfoort Racing debutant John Bennett was the fastest with a time of 1:47.228, while his Van Amersfoort Racing teammate Rafael Villagomes took second place.
Leonardo Fornaroli managed to drive the most laps in the first session – exactly fifty.
The evening session, the last in these tests, was interrupted once with red flags when the car of Oliver Goethe, a German MP Motorsport racer, stopped on the track due to some kind of malfunction.
When the races resumed, Joshua Durksen was the first to lead the Friday protocol, and the time of the Paraguayan AIX Racing driver was blocked by Fershor only about half an hour before the end of the tests.
The second stage of the season in the youth series will be held at the Bahrain International Circuit on April 11-13.
