Sergio Perez: There are many doors open in front of me

      Last year's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was Sergio Perez's 281st race in Formula 1, after which his career, which lasted 14 seasons, was interrupted. Temporarily or permanently, it is still unclear. By the way, he dropped out of the race that time after colliding with Valtteri Bottas' car on the first lap.

      The Mexican racer turned 35 in January, he is still full of energy, but, according to him, he is not going to decide on further plans in the near future.

      "I'm giving myself six months before I decide on the next steps," Sergio said. – I want to think about all possible options before deciding what the next stage of my career will be.

      I was lucky, it was going pretty well, and now I have a lot of doors open in front of me. But I'm not going to make a decision today, because, of course, this will be an important step. Therefore, I do not want to rush and intend to make the most correct choice."

      In theory, this could mean a return to Formula 1 with the Cadillac factory team making its championship debut next year. According to Fox Sports, Perez is already in talks on this topic.

      Mario Andretti, the 1978 world champion who now serves as a Cadillac F1 consultant, does not hide the fact that the project management understands that the future team needs an experienced racer. However, Perez is far from the only candidate who may be considered by General Motors in this context.
