Fernando Alonso: The car has no pace
Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso showed the thirteenth time in qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix and called the result the maximum possible, given the speed of the car on the Sahir highway. His teammate Lance Stroll qualified nineteenth and after the session told about the erroneous settings.
Fernando Alonso (13th): "We did our best in qualifying and achieved thirteenth place at the start of tomorrow's race. In the first session, I used three Soft sets to get through. As a result, we were limited in our strategy options in the second session, and I didn't have any new sets of soft tires left.
The car hasn't had any pace all weekend, so it's going to be a tough race tomorrow. We will continue to fight and hopefully we will be close to the points."
Lance Stroll (19th): "The car's settings weren't quite right today. The ground clearance was too high, so it was difficult to drive in the corners.
We always knew that the weekend in Bahrain would not be easy, so we need to keep working. Let's see if we can change anything on Sunday."
