Michael Schumacher's helmet put up for auction
The auction house Bonhams has put up for auction the racing helmet of Michael Schumacher in 1991. The auction will be held in Miami on May 3, and the estimated cost of the helmet will range from $30,000 to $50,000.
The description of the lot says that Schumacher used this helmet in the early years of his career in karting, possibly in DTM. The sponsorship stickers were added later as a reference to Schumacher's first helmet as part of the Benetton team.
The helmet is in very good condition. Together with it, the buyer will receive an original go-kart visor.
Michael Schumacher made his Formula 1 debut in August 1991 with Jordan, and before that he competed in various racing series, including DTM. For Jordan, Michael held a stage in Belgium, and already at the next race in Monza he got behind the wheel of a Benetton.
