Jack Duane tries not to think about the contract situation.

In Jeddah, Jack Duane spoke to the press for the first time about his contract with Alpine F1 and the prospects for cooperation with the Renault factory team.

It seems that the probability of a scenario in which the Australian can be replaced by Franco Colapinto during the season is already much lower, and Jack may well remain in the main Alpine squad until the end of the year. We've already talked about this, and now Duane himself has shared his thoughts with reporters.

"I try not to think about it," he said. – We know inside the team what the situation with my contract looks like, but everything else will inevitably change, and I have always understood this. I can only focus on the tasks that the team and I face – they need to be solved in order to reach the required level of speed as quickly as possible.

I am glad that in the four stages of the season that have already taken place, there were certain successful moments when we managed to show a good pace. There are many positive signs, and this experience needs to be used and developed, so the most important thing now is to put everything together. And then we will be able to show excellent results, that's for sure."

According to Duane, he should also act more correctly during the qualifications.

"At the end of the second qualifying session, when it is most important to warm up the tires properly, you should not experiment too much, but just apply basic and proven techniques," he explained, answering the question of how he could start from higher positions. – During the whole session (in Bahrain) I claimed 5th or 6th place, and then I shouldn't have tried to reinvent the bike - maybe that's why I didn't make it to the qualifying finals, even though I should have."
