Piastri: The mood matches my results

Piastri: The mood matches my results

Less than a week ago, Oscar Piastri scored his second victory since the start of the season and appreciates the achievements of McLaren this year, but prefers not to think about the prospects of fighting for the championship title yet.

Oscar Piastri: "My attitude is consistent with my results, because the start of the season was very good, and the previous weekend was special. I am proud of the way I performed in Bahrain, and I hope that we can continue in the same vein.

But so far everything is going very well, I'm happy with the car, I'm happy working with our team and I think the results reflect that too. It's too early to think about the championship, and it's best to spend every weekend as efficiently as possible - that's exactly how I try to act.

The most important thing is to achieve the best possible results on each track. If we succeed, we will be in a good position by the end of the year. I also believe that one of my strengths is psychological fortitude and the ability to remain calm in critical situations. Hopefully not the only one! (laughs)

But I think that's what makes me different, and I'm still strengthening my psychological resilience. Even after the mistake I made during the race in Melbourne, I was a little disappointed for only a few days, because I knew that I had performed at a good level throughout the weekend, and the mood was more positive than the other way around.

In general, the first few races were interesting and fun, but we hope that it will be even more fun later!"
