Alpine expects to reach the final with two cars.

Pierre Gasly led the protocol of the first session of free races in Jeddah and showed the eighth time in the second. The Alpine racer believes that the car has the potential to improve in qualifying. His teammate Jack Duane was ranked seventeenth in the second practice session. Both drivers expect to qualify in the top ten.

Pierre Gasly (8th): "Overall, I'm happy with Friday's training sessions. In the first session, the car was perfectly controlled – it's always nice to show the first time, even if it's just a workout. I felt that the car allowed me to attack, which is a good sign on a fast track like this.

In the second practice session, there were more problems with the lack of grip on the track. The team knows that this session is more indicative of what awaits us in qualifying, so we have gained some understanding of what to work on before Saturday's sessions.

We will move forward step by step. The gaps are minimal, and one or two tenths are separated by a large number of cars. We are not that far behind, but there is still an opportunity to improve. We just need to be successful on Saturday."

Jack Duane (17th): "It wasn't the easiest Friday for me, but I was able to learn a lot in two sessions. The track is very fast, and you need to gradually gain confidence to attack.

I was comfortable on Medium tires, while the Soft ones couldn't be made to work, so I need to figure something out. I am sure that we will do this before qualifying and maximize the potential of the car.

There is no doubt that the third workout will be as hot as the first. We will do our best to hone everything down to the smallest detail and compete for a place in the top ten in qualifying."
