The regulations for the 2026 season may be clarified again.
Machines and power plants according to the 2026 regulations have been in operation for a long time, but the rules continue to change. Further amendments will be proposed at the Formula 1 Commission meeting next week.
Next year, the power of the internal combustion engine and the electric motor should be equal, which will increase battery consumption by 300%, but it will be difficult to charge them on tracks where there are long straights and there are no prolonged braking, as in Baku or Monza.
The power of the hybrid system is proposed to be reduced from 350 to 200 kW, and the power distribution is 64/36 in favor of the internal combustion engine. At the same time, in overtaking mode, the power of the electric motors will remain equal to 350 kW.
The teams have different attitudes towards these amendments, but they will certainly be adopted in some version.
