Video: A lap on the future Madring circuit

At tomorrow's presentation in the Spanish capital, the design of the future Madrid Grand Prix circuit will be officially presented, and we have already talked about this. In particular, on Friday afternoon, the laying of the symbolic foundation stone will take place on the territory of the IFEMA sports and concert complex, from which the construction of the autodrome will begin in the very near future.

The following facts indicate that this will be not just another urban ring, but an autodrome: the length of the Madring circuit is about 5,400 m, of which 4,100 m will be laid on the territory of the IFEMA complex, and only 1,300 on public roads.

Today, the promoters shared a video that gives the very first impression of the track, and we must admit that even this virtual version makes a good impression. The 10th turn alone is worth something: it will be called Valdebaras, and it's a pretty steep banking, so associations immediately arise with the characteristic turns of the modern Zandfort.

But different sections of the Madrid ring are somewhat reminiscent of Albert Park, Jeddah, Miami, Montreal, and even Monaco - the list goes on. There are also quite long straights, and tricky turns of various configurations, and very aggressive curbs that must be attacked with all determination. If only the suspension would hold!

Of course, so far this is only a virtual version of the highway, and its creators immediately warned that the project would still be adjusted during the construction process. In addition, there is some truth in the words of those who prefer not to jump to conclusions about the behavior of Formula 1 cars at Madring, because first you need to understand what the new generation of equipment will be, which the championship will switch to next year.
