Hamilton: Many people didn't like my comments.

During the race in Miami, Lewis Hamilton expressed his dissatisfaction with the team several times on the radio due to the fact that he lost a lot of time behind Charles Leclair, who was driving on tougher tires at that moment. When the seven-time world champion came out to the television press after the finish, he was already in a good mood and calmly explained his vision of the situation.

Charles Leclair, on the other hand, was upset after the finish and admitted that the team could have done better.

Charles Leclair (7th): "The situation was difficult. I'm going to give a boring answer now – I don't want to comment on it.  Obviously, this is not how we want to act in the race, but we will discuss this within the team in order to make the right decisions in the future.

I have no complaints about Lewis. As a team, we have to do better in situations like this, and today's race proved that. But I don't want to go into details.

Our job is to help the team make the right strategic decisions. I'm doing everything I can for this. We're all focused on getting better."

Lewis Hamilton (8th): "To begin with, I enjoyed the race, although we understood that if you start 12th, it will not be easy. We are not at the level we want to be at, we have a serious lack of pace, and in the previous few stages we gradually lost ground.

We are aware of this and are just waiting for the team to fix the situation. It is clear that when we are fighting for positions only at the end of the top ten, the whole team is worried. But as soon as I was able to get ahead of Haas, and then switched to Medium tires, my mood immediately improved, the car behaved more quickly, and I thought that in theory I could still catch up with those who were driving in front.

Of course, I lost a lot of time behind Charles, and at that moment I wanted the team to decide as soon as possible so that they could finally make a decision. Many people didn't like my comments on the radio, but others allow themselves to say worse things. I was being sarcastic, so I'm not that upset right now.

We will discuss all this within the team. For example, in China, I felt that I was holding back my teammate, and although, of course, I did not want to lose my position, I am ready to act in the interests of the team. That's why I decided to let Charles go ahead. Today I was on a different tactic, I was on tires that allowed me to go faster, but Charles was having difficulties at that moment.

But I rode behind him for too long, and then it was too late. However, we will discuss all this with the team, behind closed doors and without any emotions. And yet I repeat: I enjoyed the race today."
