"Budget isn’t a concern for the institutions."

Discussions regarding the renewal of Imola's expiring contract are currently taking place, as reported by Italian media. The president of the race promoter, Formula Imola, is the well-known ex-team owner Gian Carlo Minardi. When asked by Sky Italia about F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali’s recent statement regarding Imola's difficulties in coexisting with Monza, which already has a longer-term agreement, the 77-year-old stated, "Our duty is to demonstrate our capability to continue organizing a grand prix, presenting challenges to those responsible for determining the calendar." He noted that negotiations have already commenced and that the upcoming days will be significant, as it will be easier to gather everyone around a table.

Importantly for Imola, the event has the backing of the Emilia-Romagna region's president, Michele de Pascale. He mentioned to La Gazzetta dello Sport, "For the institutions, it's not about budget, as there is considerable interest in continuing. If we require a state, we have a state," he added with a laugh. Pascale further stated, "Negotiations have been ongoing for some time. Monza does not exclude Imola from also being on the calendar."

Flavio Siniscalsi, head of the sports department at Italy’s council of ministers, also weighed in on Imola’s negotiations. He emphasized, "The involvement of local and national authorities is vital. We must promote and enhance inter-institutional collaboration."
