Tom Coronel on Verstappen's Nordschleife tests
Dutch racing driver Tom Coronel spoke about the tests of Max Verstappen (under the pseudonym Franz Hermann) on the northern loop of the Nurburgring last week.…
Tom Coronel: "That day, in addition to training, there was a race at the Nurburgring, in which I participated, but Franz Hermann could not – he did not have a license. To race a Nordschleife, you need to get a special permit by completing a certain course. But Max was able to do the tests on Friday."
It was rumored that the Red Bull driver broke the unofficial lap record by driving it in 7:56. Coronel, who took his son, a promising young racer, to look at Verstappen, is ready to believe it.
Tom Coronel: "Max has a faster GT3 car. They actually travel there in a little over eight minutes. Of course, I went to Max, and his bodyguards escorted my son to him. Max was well protected from photographers and video cameras, although when it became known that Verstappen would train at Nordschleife, there were a lot of journalists there, a real madhouse began!"
