Williams will bring Mansell's championship car to Goodwood
Racing drivers Jamie Chadwick and Leah Block, who work with Williams Racing, will drive the FW14B, Nigel Mansell's champion car, at the July Goodwood Festival of Speed.
This year's festival will be dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Formula 1, and Williams decided to hold demonstration races on this legendary car, which has left such a vivid mark in the history of the World Championship. But Mansell himself will also take part in the festival program and will get behind the wheel of the FW14B again.
The last time he had such an opportunity was in 2022, and we talked about it at the time - then celebrations dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Mansell's title were included in the program of the Festival of Speed.
James Vowles rode the FW08 at Goodwood last year, the car Alan Jones used to win the first World Championship for Williams, and this time the British team leader will have the opportunity to try the FW14B on the go.
The car that Williams will bring to the festival is the same chassis that Mansell used to secure the title ahead of schedule by finishing second at the Hungarian Grand Prix, but he also won Silverstone, Hockenheim and Estoril with this FW14B.
James Voules, Team Principal: "Jamie, Leah and I will be driving the FW14B at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, and this is great news.
When you visit the Williams Museum at our Grove base, you can see that this legendary car with such a long list of victories occupies a special place there.
The FW14B embodied technology that was ahead of its time, and it is famous not only for its achievements, but also for the fact that thanks to it the team took a huge step forward. It's incredibly exciting that we're bringing her to Goodwood, and we're honored to be piloting her."
