Horner refutes any thoughts of taking the job offer from Ferrari.
"I am entirely dedicated to the team."
Christian Horner has refuted claims that he might be contemplating a move to Ferrari. As his counterpart at Ferrari, Frederic Vasseur, finds himself under scrutiny, the Bild newspaper reported this week that Ferrari approached Horner "just weeks ago."
"Speculation is part of Formula 1," Horner stated to the German outlet in Barcelona. "However, there’s more discussion outside the team than within it. I have built this racing team from the ground up. My history speaks volumes."
"I am completely devoted to the team, the 2000 individuals employed by us, and the shareholders, all of whom support me wholeheartedly. I do not envision myself anywhere else," added the 51-year-old, who endured Red Bull’s leadership changes and a personal scandal in 2024.
"I’m excited about the future with the new engines launching next season," Horner emphasized. Regarding the Ferrari rumors specifically, he remarked: "Once again - I feel the trust and have no desire to work elsewhere. The fact that I’m still here demonstrates that. Over time, I’ve received inquiries from nearly every racing team, which is flattering, but Red Bull is my home."
"If I wanted to, I could leave tomorrow. I’ve secured more victories than any other team principal," Horner clarified. "I’ve earned 14 world championship titles. I don’t feel the need to prove anything to anyone anymore.
"Yet, I’m not ready to leave just yet. My role is much more than just a job."
Another rumor circulating in the Barcelona paddock suggests that if Verstappen remains in third place in the drivers’ standings by the end of June, he will not be able to activate an exit clause to depart Red Bull prematurely.
"We’re not concerned at all," Horner asserts. "Max has made his position very clear internally. He feels comfortable with us and enjoys collaborating with the team. His mindset matches ours - we are always focused on winning.
"I don't envision him anywhere but Red Bull in the near future."
