Sainz and Williams will hold demo sessions in Madrid on June 7.

On June 7, the promoters of the future Madrid Grand Prix together with the Williams team will hold a racing show with Carlos Sainz in the Spanish capital at the IFEMA complex.

But he is not the only representative of Spanish motorsport who will entertain the fans, and there will be a lot of them, including because the entrance to the event will be free: Pepe Marti, who competes for Campos Racing in Formula 2, and Mario Boy, who races for the same team, but in Formula 3, are also announced..

An improvised 1.1 km long track is organized in the area of the complex, demonstrations will begin at 19.00, but the holiday program starts two hours before that. Carlos will pilot the FW45, the car of the year 2023. Marty and Boy will have to drive their usual racing cars.

The organizers of the race festival promise that the atmosphere will be as close as possible to what happens during the championship stages, i.e. a fan zone will be organized, DJ performances will be announced, all kinds of souvenirs will be sold, and some "other surprises" are promised.

But there will be a zone named Paddock Experience, where only holders of invitation cards and accredited press will be allowed.

Since the construction of the track is still only at the initial stage, everything will take place on city streets temporarily closed to traffic, and fans are strongly advised to use public transport, because there is simply nowhere to park their personal cars.

Carlos Sainz: "Of course Madrid is my hometown. I grew up here, started karting here, and now my dream is coming true: I got the opportunity to ride through familiar streets in a Formula 1 car.

This is a great opportunity for Madrid to show everyone our potential and passion for building the best track and hosting the most interesting race on the Formula 1 calendar!

Our race show will be the first step to introduce Formula 1 to everyone and showcase the unique nature of the Madring circuit."

An interesting detail: the contract of the Barcelona autodrom with FOM expires only in 2026, and the Catalan government is negotiating its possible extension, and the future race in the Spanish capital was called the Madrid Grand Prix. However, the press release for Saturday's upcoming race show reads as follows:

"Construction is currently underway on the Madring circuit, which will host the Spanish Grand Prix from 2026 to 2035, bringing Formula 1 back to Madrid for the first time in 45 years."

Perhaps the promoters of the upcoming race already know something and deliberately shared information that has not yet been officially confirmed. But it cannot be ruled out that there is an inaccuracy in the press release.
