Horner refutes claims of wanting equity in the Alpine team.
"I’m not going anywhere, not even to Alpine."
Christian Horner has addressed the latest rumors regarding his future. Two weeks ago in Barcelona, the long-time Red Bull team principal denied speculation that Ferrari had recently approached him to take Frederic Vasseur's place. "My Italian is worse than Flavio (Briatore)’s English, so how on earth would that work?" he joked in Barcelona.
However, former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher later suggested that a more practical move for Horner might be to join Alpine. "Briatore is looking for a solid new team principal," Schumacher remarked, noting that the Renault-owned team might be willing to offer Horner a stake in the team. "That’s what he (Horner) has always desired."
In Montreal, though, Horner dismissed this fresh wave of speculation. "You know how Formula 1 is," he said. "There are always plenty of rumors in the paddock. I’m not going anywhere—I’m fully dedicated to Red Bull. We’re developing many exciting technical solutions and will soon roll out our own engine for 2026; that’s a major and ambitious undertaking."
"It's always flattering to be associated with other teams, and Ferrari has indeed approached me in the past," Horner told De Telegraaf. "But my loyalty is to Red Bull. I’m not going anywhere, not even to Alpine, despite the discussions around that possibility. Rumors circulate rapidly in the paddock, but I've been in Formula 1 for 21 years and have no intention of making any changes."
