Elbon: Bangkok's highway is not like other urban ones
Last week it became known that the Thai government has allocated 1.23 billion US dollars to host the Grand Prix in Bangkok in 2028. Williams driver Alex Albon is involved in this project, and he told us some details in Spielberg.
"It seems that the project is increasingly taking on real features," said Alex Albon. – Thailand is a major tourist region, and Formula 1 fits perfectly into this concept. I believe that the project will only benefit the country.
Apparently, it has now taken a very serious turn. The organizers attend a lot of races, although I do not know if they will come this weekend, but they were at two or three previous stages.
The project is moving forward. So far, there have been no problems, and this is very important. I can't go into details, but everything I've seen – the track and the initial plans – looks promising.
The track will not be located exactly in the center of Bangkok. If you've been to this city, you know that the traffic situation is not the easiest, so the highway is located a little away from the center.
There's a lot of work to be done with infrastructure and logistics, but the track is on its own.… I would not call it a classic urban highway. It doesn't look like the new urban trails we've seen in recent years. She has her own personality, and that's a positive thing."
