Ted Kravitz to publish a book of memoirs about working in the pit lane
A couple of weeks ago, we told you that a book by Simon Lazenby, a very popular British TV presenter, who has been leading the Sky Sports racing team at Formula 1 since 2012, is coming out in the fall.
But one of the permanent members of this team, Ted Kravitz, is perhaps even more popular, if only because he deals with the topic Formula 1 has been around for almost 30 years, and since 2002, fans have known him as a journalist who specializes in reporting from the paddock.
His Ted Notebook program always has very good ratings due to Ted's cheerful and relaxed manner, and, of course, he has accumulated a lot over the years. all kinds of stories and memories, not all of which were broadcast. As usual, a lot was left behind the scenes, and now Kravitz has announced that his first book will be published in English-speaking countries in the fall, where he tried to put it all under one cover.
The author titled his memoirs as follows: F1 Insider: Notes from the Pit Lane (which can be translated as "Notes of an insider from the pit lane of Formula 1"). In the book announcements – and pre–orders for it are already being accepted - Kravitz is called a legendary commentator who "for the first time presents his unique point of view on the past, present and future of the most vibrant and attractive sport in the world and will share his secret observations with fans..."
And here is what he himself said on his social media pages: "I am glad to announce that my book will be released on September 11. It is full of wonderful stories that have happened in Formula 1 for more than 30 years, it is an inside look at this strange and wonderful world, its champions, the characters of its heroes and its contradictions.
In general, if you have recently become a fan or if you have watched every Grand Prix since the time of Murray Walker, this book he will tell you the stories that were hidden behind the scenes of famous stories..."
It is curious that Lazenby and Kravitz's memoirs will be available on the same day, but they will be published by competing British publishers: in the first case, Penguin, in the second – Cassell. That is, colleagues at work in the paddock will become competitors in the book market – Let's see whose memoirs will be in high demand.
Since books are considered a very suitable Christmas gift, it can be assumed that fans and cheerleaders on both sides of the ocean, as well as in Australia and New Zealand, will exchange the debut literary works of two famous racing experts in December.
