Former Formula 1 racer and winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Derek Warwick, has been invited by the FIA to serve as the third steward of the Austrian Grand Prix. He was suspended from his role as a steward at the last Grand Prix, and now he's back.

Together with him, DTM steward Felix Holter and representative of the Australian Institute of Motorsport Safety and member of the FIA World Council Harry Connelly will sort out controversial issues.

In 2025, the invited stewards were: Enrique Bernoldi in Australia, Saudi Arabia and Canada, Pedro Lamy in China and Japan, Vitantonio Liuzzi in Bahrain, Imola, Monaco and Barcelona, and Derek Warwick in Miami.
