McLaren and SEGA become partners

McLaren Racing announced the signing of multi-year partnership agreements with the American division of the Japanese SEGA Corporation, one of the leaders of the global computer game industry.

Speaking about this, the British team cites the following fact: the 1993 European Grand Prix, which took place at the Donington racetrack, ended with the famous victory of Ayrton Senna, and then the great Brazilian racer was awarded a special cup in the form of a Sonic the hedgehog figure, the iconic character of SEGA computer games. This was the last season when Senna played for McLaren, and now the team emphasized that signing a contract with SEGA is a kind of example of historical continuity.

Formally, this will be a partnership with the Sonic the Hedgehog brand, including fans who will come to the upcoming London meeting with the team, McLaren Racing Live, scheduled for July 2-3, will have a lot of interesting things.

Louise McEwen, Commercial Director of McLaren Racing: "We are pleased to welcome Sonic the hedgehog to the McLaren Racing family. This partnership will bring together two legendary brands and open our team to an even wider and younger audience."
