Berman: I hope we can improve in the qualifiers.

      Oliver Berman, the British Haas F1 driver, is looking forward to his first home Grand Prix and hopes that the new technical upgrades, which are being debuted this weekend, will help the team improve in qualifying, since the race pace of the VF-25 is already quite good.

      Oliver Berman: "I believe that saying I am excited about my first home British Grand Prix doesn't fully convey my mood. A year ago, it was announced that I would be racing in Formula 1 in 2025, and that was a very special moment. Returning to Silverstone as a full-time Haas driver is an incredible experience, and I am truly thrilled.

      My first time at the British Grand Prix was back in 2015, exactly ten years ago, and I was cheering for Sebastian Vettel! If you watch the recording of the podium ceremony, you can hear a boy shouting: Ferrari! That was me – Lewis Hamilton won the race that day, but Vettel finished third.

      Of course, the schedule this weekend is a bit more intense than usual. It all started on Wednesday when we were received by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Actually, that was a first for me! Since it’s my home race, there’s much more attention on us, and there are more events as well.

      But I think the most important thing is to conserve energy for the race and remember that the main focus should be on Saturday’s qualifying and Sunday’s Grand Prix. I had an honest discussion with the team about this because we need to act as efficiently as possible, especially since this is my first home Grand Prix. I want this weekend to be memorable and for the racing on track to be enjoyable.

      Our car will feature several technical innovations this weekend, and it seems that everything is moving in the right direction for the team. Overall, our weakness has been qualifying, since our race pace is quite good. In the two previous races, I finished 11th, though judging by our qualifying positions, things aren’t going as well.

      I hope the new upgrades will help us improve in qualifying, especially on the high-speed sections of the track, and that we will gain at least a few hundredths of a second, as even that could make a significant difference given how close the results are."
