Max Verstappen: The day turned out to be quite a bad one

Max Verstappen posted the fifth-best time in the second practice session for the British Grand Prix, five-tenths behind the leader Lando Norris. Summing up Friday, the Red Bull Racing driver stated that he was dissatisfied with the car's balance.

Yuki Tsunoda missed the first session, giving way to debutant Arvid Lindblad, and finished the second session in fifteenth place.

Max Verstappen (5th): "Personally, the day was quite poor for me. The car's balance was very bad, making it difficult to navigate each turn. The wind also had a strong influence on the car's behavior, but that's not an excuse because everyone was in the same conditions. However, it seems that our car is quite sensitive to the wind.

Overall, it was not the easiest day. The car is lacking speed, but we will evaluate some solutions and try to improve."

Yuki Tsunoda (15th): "The car is fine, but there's still a lot of work to do tomorrow. Last weekend, the car handled well, and I was very pleased with it until the race. The pace is there, so now it's all about fine-tuning. There are some differences between our two cars, so we made some comparisons and now we'll see how we can adapt for the remaining days of the weekend.

A cooler temperature tomorrow should help, but it won't be easy. According to the forecast, the weather is expected to be stable, but you can never be entirely sure in the UK!

I only did one session, but I already noticed a few things I can improve in terms of driving and setups. So, everything that remains is just to optimize."

Arvid Lindblad (14th in the first session): "An amazing day. I am very grateful to Red Bull for the opportunity to participate in the first official F1 session.

I felt comfortable in the car, and the speed was fine, but I think if I had completed a few more laps, I would be faster. Considering this is my first experience piloting this car, I believe the session was a success.

This weekend, the Formula 1 car is about 13 or 14 seconds faster than the Formula 2 car, so the difference is huge, but I am satisfied with the work done. Everyone on the team supported me, and I’ve been working with the engineers for some time, gradually gaining speed and understanding the nuances of F1 better. Right after the session, I wanted to do another one!

Now I am fully focused on doing well in Formula 2 and soon becoming a main F1 driver."
