Shtainer: Cadillac won't take an American driver.

The racing world continues to discuss the candidates for two seats in the new Cadillac team. Former Haas boss Günther Steiner named his four favorites and suggested that there will definitely be no American driver in Cadillac's debut season.

Günther Steiner: "I believe Mika Häkkinen has a good chance of securing a contract with Cadillac. The team needs drivers with Formula 1 experience, and currently there aren't many drivers on the market who are out of work but have F1 experience.

Mika was a test driver for Mercedes. Yes, he hasn't competed in races, but he learned a lot being part of a good and large team. Knowledge of how a successful team operates can help Cadillac.

I don't think they'll invite an American driver because such a move carries very high risks. They simply lack F1 experience, and such a decision could very quickly turn against them. It wouldn't help anyone.

Sergio Pérez, Valtteri Bottas, and Guanyu Zhou—all have F1 experience. Along with Mika Häkkinen, they are my four favorites."
