Unofficially: Cadillac has finalized its driver lineup.

Cadillac has finalized their driver lineup for the debut season. This is reported by Auto Action, citing sources close to the team.

As many expected, in 2026, Cadillac will be represented by an experienced driver and a debutant. Next season, Valtteri Bottas will be the team's lead driver. The team and Bottas agreed on the contract during the British Grand Prix weekend, although the documents have not yet been signed.

Nevertheless, Valtteri will soon begin work on the team's simulator and assist engineers in determining the key characteristics of the new car.

In the race for the contract, experienced Bottas outperformed the more experienced Sergio Perez, who was also in negotiations with the team. However, Cadillac chose the Finn because they were more impressed by his determination, attitude towards work, and character.

Regarding other contenders, Yuki Tsunoda, Jack Duhan, Miku Schumacher, and Guanyu Zhou have already been informed that their candidacies are no longer being considered. Cadillac decided to focus on a debutant with the potential to become a team leader after Bottas retires in a few years.

The main candidate to partner with Valtteri is Felipe Drugovich. The Brazilian lacks Formula 1 race experience, but as an Aston Martin reserve driver, he has driven over 10,000 kilometers in testing and practice, and his lap times were often comparable to Fernando Alonso's, confidently surpassing Lance Stroll.

Supporting Drugovich's candidacy is the fact that he has already raced Cadillac in endurance racing three times—twice at Le Mans and once at Daytona. Engineers were impressed with his speed, stability, and feedback. All of this led to Felipe being the top contender for the seat in the second Cadillac F1 car.
