Oscar Piasti: I discussed my penalty with the FIA.

At Silverstone, Oscar Piastri received a 10-second penalty and two driving penalty points for violating the safety car rules by braking too sharply before the restart, thereby losing his chances of winning the race. At Spa, the McLaren driver said he discussed the penalty with the FIA and would not brake so sharply in the future.

Oscar Piastri: "Of course, my team and I discussed everything after the race. I think both sides learned a lot from that situation. Of course, I still have some feelings about what happened, but I have already left it in the past.

I have made similar maneuvers before, and other drivers have acted the same way. If now such actions are going to be penalized, then so be it. I'll know for the future. But immediately after the race, I was upset.

We discussed what happened with the FIA. As I said, both sides have something to learn from this situation. Things could have been done differently. Next time, I won’t brake so sharply – it’s that simple. Now I understand a bit better what actions are acceptable and what are not, so I just won’t brake so sharply."
