Ricciardo dismisses the possibility of a comeback as he adjusts to life after F1.
Daniel Ricciardo has stated that he has no intentions of returning to Formula 1, sharing that he is finally relishing life outside the sport's pressures. The 36-year-old Australian, who was briefly associated with Cadillac’s 2026 initiative, told Men’s Fitness that he is "training for myself and for my wellbeing" for the first time as an adult.
"We had to adhere to strict parameters," he mentioned regarding his F1 career. "We had to monitor our calories and our weight. Now I’m just training for myself." Ricciardo highlighted that strength training, which had previously been constrained by racing demands, is now an integral part of his daily regimen. "It feels really good to lift again. I feel healthy and strong. I think if I can achieve something each day, that counts as a little victory."
He also dismissed rigid diets, stating, "I don’t weigh my food, but I’m a bit more mindful of protein and recovery." Cooking is a newfound skill for him as well. "I’m still around a one out of ten," he joked, "but preparing my own meals and understanding where my food comes from feels rewarding."
While many of his peers pursue last opportunities in F1 or IndyCar, Ricciardo seems satisfied. He has incorporated meditation into his daily life, crediting it with helping him find tranquility after years on the move. "I definitely appreciate my own company more now," he said. "I feel like I’ve found more balance in my life overall."
