Max Verstappen: We won't give up

Red Bull Racing's best result in Hungary was Max Verstappen's ninth place. His teammate Yuki Tsunoda has not scored points in the seventh race in a row. Both drivers promised to analyze the issues that hindered the team this weekend and to return stronger after the summer break.

Max Verstappen (9th): "Unfortunately, we were not good enough throughout the weekend, and we need to understand why. The race was quite challenging – I was stuck behind competitors, and the car lacked grip. Speed in fast corners was fine, but in slow and mid-speed corners, not so much.

After such a difficult weekend, we need to thoroughly analyze things – the car was hard to handle, and unfortunately, we couldn't change the situation. As always, the team will review everything and draw conclusions to be more competitive at Zandvoort.

Ultimately, we didn’t enjoy this weekend, but there's a summer break ahead, and I will have a good time with family and friends without overthinking racing.

There are many rounds left in the season, and we hope to improve results after the break. We want to achieve greater stability, but despite the disappointing result, we will not give up."

Yuki Tsunoda (17th): "A tough weekend for the team. We knew it would be difficult to score points today, and after I damaged the front wing, my race effectively ended. halfway through, one of the flaps flew off, causing me to lose some downforce, and grip with the track worsened. We lost the opportunity to make strategic decisions that could have helped.

Nevertheless, I remain positive because we made progress thanks to the updated floor of the car, which I received in Spa. The gap to Max is steadily decreasing. Perhaps it’s not obvious, but I’m actually only a tenth off his pace. I don’t know how many other drivers can match his speed so closely.

Tomorrow, I will head straight to the factory to work on the simulator. We need to understand what we did wrong and continue working hard during the summer break so we don't start the second half of the season the way we finished this one. It’s frustrating, but we stay positive and will come back stronger."
