Sixth place - the best result of Bortoleto's career
Novice Sauber Gabriel Bortoleto brought important points to the team, achieving his best career result so far in Hungary. Veteran Nico Hülkenberg finished 13th...
Gabriel Bortoleto (6th): "I am very pleased with the day's results; I achieved my best career finish, which was the result of the hard work of the entire team. We are making the right steps in the right direction, and this is just the beginning of what we can accomplish together.
The race was tense and mentally challenging, but I gave it my all and made no mistakes. We maximized all opportunities, executed flawless pit stops – I am happy for our entire team.
I was racing between two-time world champion Fernando Alonso and four-time world champion Max Verstappen – it was an incredible experience and a reminder of how far we've come.
I want to thank every team member at the track and at the Hinwil base for this first part of the season. We couldn't have achieved this without all the work we've done together. During the summer break, I will have the opportunity to celebrate this achievement with my family."
Nico Hülkenberg (13th): "A tough race. Starting from the back rows, we knew a hard fight was ahead on a narrow track where traffic was challenging.
We chose an aggressive two-stop strategy that seemed promising, but ultimately a one-stop strategy proved more effective.
In the end, my result was affected by a poor qualifying session, but I’m glad Gabriel brought in eight points for the team.
After the race in Barcelona, we made significant progress, earning points in six consecutive races. We now confidently sit in the mid-field, which is the result of the hard work of everyone in the team.
We will rest during the summer break and return ready for new battles."
