"We may have been somewhat too harsh on the individuals"

The repercussions from Lance Stroll’s radio rant at Silverstone have escalated, with Aston Martin reportedly placing Sky Deutschland on a blacklist due to negative remarks from TV commentator Ralf Schumacher. According to the Bild newspaper, Sky reporter Peter Hardenacke and Schumacher faced restrictions while trying to engage with Aston Martin staff during the Hungarian GP weekend, and their requests to speak with trackside chief Mike Krack were also declined. Sky informed its viewers of the snub during their broadcast, with former F1 driver Schumacher stating, "I know they’re not granting us more interviews because they’re not too fond of us at the moment." Hardenacke remarked, "We may have been somewhat too critical of the individuals at Aston Martin."

The alleged blacklisting seems to be connected to Schumacher’s harsh criticism of Stroll’s team radio comments at Silverstone, where the Canadian driver, son of the team owner Lawrence Stroll, stated: "This is the worst piece of sh*t I’ve ever driven in my life." Schumacher labeled the comment as "completely unacceptable," describing it as a reflection of "poor upbringing," and suggested, "It was a major celebration at the Aston Martin factory. When the person who races spoils it in that way, you need to say, 'Sit down, son, and apologize to the team.'" In Hungary, Aston Martin finished 5th (Alonso) and 7th (Stroll), with both drivers currently tied on 26 points, far behind championship leader Oscar Piastri by 258 points. As reported by the German newspaper, Aston Martin officials expressed their frustration with Sky, claiming the network "shows little interest" in team media events and has "repeatedly criticized" the green-clad team and its drivers. Nonetheless, the team maintains that Sky is welcome at official FIA events.
