Cardile finally begins at Aston following the conflict with Ferrari.
"A resolution has been achieved."
Enrico Cardile has officially commenced his role at Aston Martin, concluding a lengthy legal dispute with Ferrari that postponed his transition for over a year. Cardile, who dedicated nearly twenty years to Ferrari and most recently held the position of technical director for chassis and aerodynamics, was initially linked to Aston Martin in mid-2024. However, after departing from Maranello last July, Ferrari enforced a stringent non-compete clause and successfully obtained a court order in Modena to prevent Cardile from taking on his new role prematurely. That restriction lapsed last month, and Aston Martin has now confirmed that the Italian engineer has begun his tenure as Chief Technical Officer. "We are happy that a resolution has been reached and that Enrico can move forward with the team into 2026 and beyond as Chief Technical Officer, heading our design and technical operations at the AMR Technology Campus," stated a team representative. Cardile will collaborate with newly arrived engineering legend Adrian Newey as Aston Martin develops a robust technical framework in preparation for the significant regulatory changes in 2026. Meanwhile, Ferrari has restructured its leadership after Cardile's exit, with Loic Serra, formerly of Mercedes, now leading the technical department.
