Hamilton: I need to rest and let go of this situation.

Lewis Hamilton admitted that the first half of the season with Ferrari did not meet expectations. After the finish in Hungary, the seven-time world champion said he needed a summer break to clear his mind.

Lewis Hamilton: "God knows how many recent seasons have been difficult in their own way. This year has certainly been the most intense in terms of work, adapting to a new culture, a new team. Not everything has gone smoothly in all areas – it’s been a real challenge.

As for my spirit... I definitely need to rest and recharge, spend time with my children, laugh, and let go of this situation. I’m sure at some point I will shed tears, but it will be helpful.

I enjoy participating in races. I like what I do. I enjoy wearing the red racing suit and working with this team. I truly believe in the team. It’s hard to explain, but I had this feeling before at Mercedes, when team spirit gradually develops. And I see passion at Ferrari.

Of course, I understand I still have a lot to do, especially on the track. Not everything is perfect yet, but I also see things that can be improved behind the scenes.

I’m glad the break is coming. Everyone needs it, especially the guys working at the base. They deserve time with their families. We will return for the second half of the season full of energy."
