Cadillac F1 video devoted to the day's main news

The Cadillac team, which announced today that its drivers will be Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez, did not limit itself to a single press release about an event the racing world had long awaited. It was presented on a truly American scale: a short but impressive video appeared on social media in which Keanu Reeves appears alongside the drivers — it is his voice heard off-camera.

In July we reported that the Hollywood star and big Formula 1 fan had begun filming a documentary series about the birth of the new team, and this short video gives the first glimpse of his creative method.

“Few are called, even fewer are chosen in the end,” Keanu says at the start of the clip. “Do you want bright moments caught in the spotlight, or are you more interested in the legacy that remains afterward? The godfathers of America’s glory — cultural rock stars — at Cadillac have chosen a path, and it’s the fastest of all. And this path isn’t for just one season — it leads to the future. A person has only one fate, but it is forged by collective effort…”

After that we see Reeves himself on camera, who delivers another line addressed to Valtteri and Sergio: “We’ve been waiting for you!”

It’s hard to argue — that’s indeed the case, especially since rumors that Cadillac would place its bet primarily on experience have been circulating for a long time. As for the somewhat excessive pomposity of this “short film,” it is perhaps forgivable on a day like this.

On the other hand, if Hollywood professionals were brought into the project, the end result is unlikely to be something ordinary and simple. Although, of course, in the end the main thing is not that but the results on the track, and achieving those is much harder than shooting such a video.
