Cadillac has confirmed its lineup for 2026.
The American team supported by General Motors has placed its bet on experience — next year race winners Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez will be behind the wheel — between them they have contested 527 Grands Prix, winning 16 of them.
Graham Loudon, team principal: "Signing contracts with two very experienced drivers, Valtteri and Sergio, is a statement of intent. They have seen it all and know what it takes to succeed in Formula 1. But more importantly, they understand how to help build the team.
Their leadership, feedback, race-hardened instincts and, of course, speed will play an invaluable role. We are grateful to the Mercedes team for their cooperation and understanding."
Sergio Pérez: "Together with the Cadillac team I am beginning an exciting new chapter in my career. From our very first conversations I felt the passion and determination of the people behind this project. It is a great honor for me to be part of a team that will develop and progress to fight at the front in time.
Cadillac is an iconic name in American motorsport. By taking part in the project of such a fantastic company in Formula 1, I feel a huge responsibility, and I am confident I can shoulder it. I am proud to have been part of this ambitious and significant project from the very beginning. I believe that together we will turn this team into a genuine contender for victory, into America's team. We are counting on support from across the continent and want everyone to be proud of us."
Valtteri Bottas: "Having started talking with the Cadillac team, I felt this was a very ambitious yet realistic project with long-term goals.
You don't get the chance every day to take part in building a project from scratch to make it a worthy participant in Formula 1. I have been lucky to work with some of the best teams in the world, and I already see the same professionalism and hunger for success here.
Cadillac is an iconic brand with a huge heritage in American motorsport; being part of its story as it steps onto Formula 1's world stage is incredibly important to me. I look forward to the opportunity to represent the American racing spirit on the world's best circuits. I would also like to thank Mercedes for their unwavering support and sporting spirit, which helped us take this important step."
