Kolapinto: I already feel more confident behind the wheel.

A year ago Franco Colapinto made his Formula 1 debut at Monza. At the press conference before the Italian Grand Prix the Alpine driver said he expects to make progress in the second half of the season because he already knows the tracks he will be racing on.

Franco Colapinto: "I'm going to have my first race at a circuit where I've already competed. I know all nine remaining tracks, and that will help me a lot. Besides, I have pleasant memories of Monza. It's great to be back here a year after my debut.

Right now I feel like I have the situation under control; I feel more confident behind the wheel — the driving sensations I had last year, and which I lacked this season, are coming back to me. I believe that working with the team and my engineers has helped a lot with that. But that work continues, because we're not yet in the positions we can be.

We've made significant progress with the car — in the last few races it has really improved. I feel more competitive — we're much closer to scoring points, but there's still a lot to do.

It will be quite tough for us at Monza because of the long straights, but I think that if the team makes the most of every opportunity, then we could have a good weekend."
