Hajar: We really deserved this point.
Isaac Hadjar scored a point in Monza after starting from the pit lane, while Liam Lawson finished only 14th…
Isaac Hadjar (10th): “I’m happy. In my view, I achieved the best possible result in this race. The car was quick, we complemented a successful strategy with good race pace. Before the start I thought I’d get stuck in the DRS train, but we managed to use the Hard tyres’ potential effectively on a clear track.
Overall the race was interesting, it felt like we were doing lap after lap at qualifying pace without tyre degradation. After a poor qualifying and starting from the pit lane, I think we really deserved this point. I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel in Baku in two weeks.”
Liam Lawson (14th): “After starting from the back the race was tough. We tried to make up ground through strategy, we decided to take a risk, but the risk didn’t pay off. Several cars ahead went out on fresh tyres, and I got stuck behind them.
I’m disappointed I couldn’t score points, because the car was quick. I couldn’t get the most out of its potential, but it’s not as bad as it seems, we’ll try to turn things around in two weeks in Baku.”
