Marko: Max had complete control of the situation.
Helmut Marko is delighted with Max Verstappen's victory in Monza. The Red Bull motorsport advisor recalled that until recently the team was struggling to score points and wasn't thinking about fighting for wins.
"Two races ago in Hungary we were happy if we simply scored points, and today we won by twenty seconds," Helmut Marko said on German Sky Sport. "Apart from the first corner Max completely controlled the situation, and all our concerns were solely about the possible deployment of the safety car. That's why we delayed the pit stop a bit.
"It's hard for me to comment when Max wins by twenty seconds. It's just Max, and we've brilliantly returned to contention.
"When I think back to last year, I think the Monza race was the worst for us. I believe we have a good chance in Baku, because fast circuits suit us.
"Max has never won in Singapore, but I think we can fight at the front on most circuits."
