Lewis Hamilton: I didn't deserve to be on the podium today.

Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton finished fourth and sixth in Monza. The Ferrari drivers admitted that the car's pace did not allow them to fight for places in the top three.

Charles Leclerc (4th): "At the start I had a great battle with Oscar Piastri. I overtook him when he made a mistake, and he overtook me when I made one. The McLarens were simply faster than us.

I tried to extract even more from the car, so several times I almost lost the rear. I mean, I couldn't expect more, unfortunately.

I tried, but it didn't work. No regrets, but the race pace was a bit worse than we expected.

Maybe in Singapore, Baku and Las Vegas we'll be a bit closer to winning the race. But I think we're third on the list of favourites. If Red Bull run into trouble, then we'll be second, but we certainly won't be the main favourites, so it will always be tough for us."

Lewis Hamilton (6th): "Today I definitely felt on top and I'm pleased with that. I had a good start, but I ended up squeezed between cars, so I had to lift off the throttle. But I'm very happy with how I placed the car on the track in turns one and four.

After that I was close to George Russell, and I had to try to execute an undercut on him. Staying out longer didn't pay off. Well, we'll learn from it.

I'm glad I recovered after the penalty and finished sixth. It's nice to have put in a solid performance in front of the tifosi. Today I didn't deserve to be on the podium, but I'll go and greet our fans.

We didn't have the pace to fight Red Bull, they were quick today, and we didn't have the same pace as McLaren. So our places are fourth, fifth or sixth. If we'd done everything perfectly, maybe there would have been a chance for a podium, but in terms of pure speed we didn't deserve it."
