Verstappen: "The Triple Crown doesn't interest me."
On Thursday in Baku Max Verstappen spoke enthusiastically about the recent race on the Nürburgring Nordschleife…
Max Verstappen: "I had to get a license, so I had to take part in that race behind the wheel of a not-very-powerful GT4 car, but you can learn a lot even on a day like that. Fortunately it rained at times; in a slower car I had to deal with traffic, avoid trouble — it was a useful experience. I dream of taking part in a 24-hour race, I knew I needed a license for that, and this was the perfect opportunity to get one. I think Helmut Marko was very excited; he sees how passionate I am about this and knows why I'm doing it. He himself raced in endurance events, so it's easier for him to understand me, and it's very important for me to have the opportunity to do this. Of course, how many races I'll be able to do over the course of an F1 season is a big question; next year with the new rules it will be quite difficult, but we'll see how it goes. But right now nobody knows what will happen in five or ten years in F1 or GT. The 'Triple Crown' (a win in Monaco, the Indy 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans)? I'd like to race at Le Mans, but the Triple Crown doesn't interest me. I enjoy watching IndyCar, but I don't want to race there."
