
Baku extended its contract with Formula 1.
Formula 1 has announced the extension of the contract to host the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The parties have signed a new four-year agreement under which the round on the Baku street circuit will remain on the World Championship calendar through 2030.
Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of Formula 1: “Baku has incredible energy, and since the first Grand Prix in 2016 Formula 1 has consistently received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the people of Azerbaijan.
Baku has a unique circuit with technical sections in the historic old city and long straights along a stunning waterfront. All of this contributes to eventful and exciting races every year.
The contract extension reflects the strong trust and commitment from Formula 1, the government of Azerbaijan and the promoters, and it also paves the way for an exciting future for the country.”
