McLaren will work on pit stops.

Consecutive pit-stop problems cost Lando Norris points at the Italian and Azerbaijan Grands Prix. McLaren team principal Andrea Stella considers this area key and in need of improvement...

Andrea Stella: "Pit stops are one of the areas we've focused our efforts on. We need to do more work in this direction. Racing is becoming increasingly close and intense; any hesitation can be costly, and the impact of a pit stop on the result is becoming ever more important.

For the remainder of the season, and taking into account the characteristics of next year's car, we have to do serious work both on pit stop procedures and on the equipment so that carrying out pit stops is simpler and more seamless for the team.

The problems in Monza and Baku are not related to each other, which points to the need for improvements in the broadest sense. In Baku the delay was more related to the interaction between the mechanic and the wheel gun. We've learned the lessons and continue to learn. We know there is room to improve the equipment and the car so that we can make life a little easier for our mechanics."
